Prepare a site checklist

Check local rules and the kite manufacturer guidance before choosing a place. Look for open space away from roads, power lines, airports, people and other hazards.

Assess current weather and conditions at the site. Do not fly in thunderstorms or conditions beyond the equipment guidance and your experience.

Keep the checklist with the kite. If the location or conditions are unsuitable, choose another day rather than trying to make the original plan work.
